Reel stripping lines for newspaper printers

Witech engineers develop and build most of the lines according to customers’ demands and in line with the production layout and the required reel capacity. In this context, the individual components mentioned represent standardised modules that can be assembled like in a construction kit.
The stripping line for newspaper printers is a special application case in the reel logistics sector. In this line, reels still packed are transported from the reel storage to a stripping line where all packaging material is removed and splices for fully automatic reel change at the unwinding station of the printing press are prepared on the paper reel. The prepared reel is mostly stored in a day storage from where the printing press can automatically retrieve it and have it loaded by way of Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGV’s).
